Grandview On the Lake

Really old property, not in great shape. Rooms appear to be individually owned (condos), so no common services. TV didn't work in our room, internet was really poor, but room was nicely furnished. Views were great, but step outside and you're in a rundown Motel 6. Pool was closed for the season, no restaurants on property, staff / service wasn't stellar, we won't be back.

Well, I do not like having to go this far but this is my first review of many I will be making on this place. The customer service is trash and the employees could care less about their guests. With the recent fires all of our outdoor activities in the area were canceled. Why would we come to a place that we can not enjoy because of the air pollution? The employees stated that regardless of this there is nothing they can do and that there would be no refunds. So, it looks like I will be writing reviews all day. 10/10 recommend staying anywhere else but here.

Beautiful room/view, no beach though, and pool was constantly… gross. The Campbell had a sandy beach and I think the experience would have been better if the Grandview had that, but the room was great and the overall area is very nice. The parking is tight though and most of the ice machines were “out of order”. Overall I might look at Campbell to see which is better value for next year.

Terribly disappointed in our experience this year. We've been going here for the past 10+ years. The WiFi is atrocious and can't even keep a connection. Don't expect to stream anything or even check your email. Why do they keep advertising WiFi that doesn't work? Today and yesterday the one elevator was "Out of Order" and so we needed to haul out luggage down the small flight of stairs. Couldn't use the luggage carts and strained our backs trying to check out. The master room King size bed in Room 303 was absolutely horrible to sleep in. They haven't been rotating the bed and so the side next to the bathroom was completely flat and out of any cushion. The other side was fine and actually decent. We woke up with the worst neck and back pain, and leg cramps in the middle of the night. The staff offered nothing other than to rotate and flip the bed. While rotating, we noticed undesirable stains on the pillow top. Since the rooms are furnished by a single owner, not Windermere, they couldn't swap mattresses. The front desk staff can only help getting you your key and few other tasks. I don't blame them but their customer service and ability to help alleviate any of our issues was not helpful. Most of our requests were met with blank stares and even an eye roll. No access to a manager and anyone with any authority to actually do anything. Windermeres and condo owners' tactic for cutting costs is apparent. We've been long time guests who will be going elsewhere for our next stay. Our group typically reserves 4-5 large rooms for a week at a time. Does Grandview even care? It's still been a few days after and management hasn't reached out to us.

I've had better stays at a motel 7 than at this place. They charge extra fees to have your room "cleaned" but let's be real there is no cleaning involved. The room I stayed in was damp with bugs and the garbage from the previous people were left scattered around. Carpet was absolutely disgusting and counter tops were sticky. If you choose this place , good luck.

Bugs in the room. Toilet took a while to flush when we first got there. No black out curtains for the windows. Couldnt get as hot of water as I'd like for a shower. Garbage from previous guests staying there. They wanted $50 AND 24hr notice for every requested housekeeping service. You have to go grab your own new towels. Disgusting carpet. Paid a thousand dollars for a weekend, would not come back.

I have been coming here for over 30 yrs. and they have made a huge mistake when they converted to condo's. No daily housekeeping, if you need additional towels you need to go to the office, fines for everything from smoking on the property to damaged towels. They need to renovate many of the rooms and of course management's response is "these are condo's and it is up to the unit owner bla, bla". Also, parking is a nightmare. There are NOT enough spots and management will tell you that you can park in town or on a side street. When you are paying over $500 per night you expect to park in THEIR lot now down the street. Come on you can do better than this.

We had a mom and daughters trip planned and chose grand view .. and it was a huge disappointment!! It’s NOT clean huge spider webs in the corners and smells horrible! NOT a to mention we paid $1300 for 3 nights 4 days and you have to request maid service and take all towels down to desk to retrieve clean ones! Unless you request which we knew nothing about and to have to pay $50 extra for that? I think $1300 is plenty! I will not return ! And never recommend this place ! We will continue our normal place at Campbell’s! Customer service is top notch over there!
